If you are undergoing a major procedure, your post-treatment dental care will start with us giving you detailed instructions to follow. This includes after-care instructions, what to expect and what to do if you have any concerns. Our post-treatment dental care instructions may include:
- Recommended pain relief
- Reducing swelling
- Any food or drinks we recommend avoiding
- Expected healing time frame
- Brushing and flossing techniques
- Salt-water rinses
- Who and how to contact if you are concerned
The day after your procedure we will contact you to see how you’re going and make sure that everything is on track. Depending on your procedure, in some cases we will also set up a post-treatment appointment to make sure everything is working as it should and that you’re happy with the results.
We take an active maintenance approach to care, which means we’ll schedule ongoing check-ups with you at either six or 12 month intervals, depending on your stage of life, lifestyle, and condition of your teeth.
